IFEM
Symposium on Resuscitation

 Dear Colleagues,

We are proud to announce the 1st IFEM Symposium on Resuscitation was a great success! It was the most significant gathering of emergency specialists in Latin America to date. The setting was San Miguel de Allende, GTO, Mexico - a UNESCO World Heritage site listed among the top 5 cities in the world by the Travel and Leisure magazine World's Best readers poll 2010. San Miguel is renowned for its idyllic surroundings, its high culture, its beauty, and its safety. It serves as a major center for the arts, music, culinary delights, architecture and history.

In this dramatic backdrop, IFEM hosted the relatively intimate, but high quality symposium featuring the giants of our field, including William Barsan, Peter Cameron, Judith Tintinalli, Robert Suter, Fransesco Della Corte and Frederick Blum. These experts, among many others, shared the very latest advances in Resuscitative Medicine with Latin America and the world. Mexico, with over 2,500 residency trained emergency physicians, hosted its key leaders in EM to update us on the state of the art of EM in Mexico and Latin America. Simultaneous interpretation facilitated the exchange of information between attendees including EM residency directors, faculty private physicians and residents from throughout Mexico, Latin America and the world.

Content included the ECC/AHA 2010 guidelines, BLS/ACLS/PALS, Trauma, Neurology, Obstetrics, Disaster Medicine, as well as advances in critical care tech such as the use of Ultrasonography in resuscitation. A progressive EM curriculum meeting reviewed and update strategies for training EM residents in Mexico and throughout Latin America. The social and cultural offerings during the conference provided some fun activities during this milestone event in the heart of Mexico.

PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR OUR VIDEO LECTURES TO BE POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE......

We would like to thank all of our attendess and sponsors for making this one-of-a-kind event a world class success.

Sincerely,
IFEM Symposium on Resuscitation 2011, Organizing Committee
